ANNOUNCEMENT: We are going to the YMCA on Thursday. Please leave early, 12:05, for lunch and go to the FAC classroom.
We have been talking about physical disabilities and even experienced some of these. Watch these videos, and think about the difficulties you experienced last week writing, opening a container, and going to the restroom.
I want you to compare the struggles you faced doing the simple tasks I asked you to do, to the everyday, every minute challenges these two individuals face.
Please comment on your thoughts, how you feel after thinking about your experience last week, versus what these guys face. What do they teach you? What can we learn from them?
codi hartzler.
ReplyDeletethey have to go threw this strugle everyday of their lives that would be hard for me to do because i am used to being able to use my hands arms and legs and feet. they teach a leason that you can do anything if you really want to reach that goal they didnt let anything stop them from what they wanted to do in life. we can learn from them that you can do anything if you try and practice.
James the vidoes are awesome
ReplyDeletei think its really cool that they can do all of those things without using their arms.
ReplyDeletelast week i really struggled when i wasnt able to use my arms and its amazing that they can do things like drive a plane with no arms.
we can learn to not focus on obssticles that we're faced with, and just try hard to accomplish goals.

After we did the stimulations last week it helped me better understand what people with disabilities go through on a regular bases. t taught me that it is possible for you to do what ever you want to do as long as you belive you can.

After everything we did last week it really made me see the stuggles people face on a regular basis. What we did was only a couple minutes and it didnt last long, but for these people, it's for life. After seeing these two people it teaches me that anything and everything is possible no matter what the difficulty is. They wanted something bad so they went for it. They didn't let there disability come in the way of their dreams. From watching these videos I can learn that something simple that stops me from doing something isn't anything compared to what they go through. They push and fight for what they want and they turn it into an accomplishment, not a stuggle. (:

I think you can't even compare the stuggles they have with the obsticles you put on us last week. It was hard only using one hand to use the bathroon, but having no hands or no feet has to be like 461432416543 times the struggle. Like I'm sure they learn how to work without legs and arms, but people with hands and legs didn't need to go through the stuggles of learning how to do all those things. I think they are really insperational people. We always complain about dumb little things that we don't get or we don't have, and they never complain! I look up to them in so many ways.

After watching these videos and seeing what they have to go through, what we did seems like nothing. It felt hard to me but we only had to do it for a short time they have to live their lives that way and find new ways to do everyday things that we don't even think about. we can learn from them to be grateful that we can easily do little things like opening a jar or picking something up.
